I can hardly believe it is almost Easter. I hope to make some cards for my grand kids and maybe a little basket or some goodies. That is my plan...I hope I can get it done. Things don't always turn out as I wish, but let's hope it does this year. I have a few cards to make this month. My sister is having a birthday and I want to make her a nice card, then there is Easter, then Mothers Day. I hope my creative juices are working extra hard, I want to make some really nice cards. I love making cards.
I love crafts of almost every kind. Except sewing, I'm not to good at that. I can't even thread the needle. lol. Well, maybe if I could see a little bit better I might be able to. So, I don't sew...I glue. If you can't glue it...don't do it. I learned that verse from an old craft show I use to love to watch called the Aleens Creative Living. That was a fun show to watch, and learn neat arts and crafts projects. I also loved, loved, loved the Carol Duval Show. She had so many talented guest on her show. I sure wish they had never taken that show off. What's with that. Man, it seems that all the craft shows are gone. Now it's mostly about building, remodeling and that type of shows. Alright already, have some of those, but not just those...gees. BRING BACK SOME CRAFT SHOWS!. It seems like all my favorite shows are gone. I use to love Guiding Light, the soap. That was the BEST. I have watched that show for many, many years. Even my kids got into it. We sure miss it. Thank goodness for youtube. lol. I guess if I feel like watching an old show or a clip of an old show, I'm bound to find it there. Plus a lot more. I love to look at crafts on youtube, there are so many great ideas and techniques. I wish I had the courage to do a video tutorial like some of those artist. I keep telling myself to do it, but, I haven't. I am a big chicken. That is one reason, I make things and then pack them away, I don't have the courage to go out and show them off. I am glad my kids didn't pick that up from me. They are so outgoing and have lots of friends, they didn't get that from me. haha. Thank goodness. I wish I was more like them. ..Yep, I want to be like them when I grow up. They are my idol.

Christmas Time
I have been so very busy making cards for Christmas. This is one of my favorite things to do, besides writing. I enjoy making cards and writing the verses on my cards, this brings me such great joy. I wish I could show them off to everyone, but, I will settle for everyone I know. lol. I am lucky to be able to do this and to have a place to do this. I have an extra bedroom that is now my craft room. It is my safe haven, when I just want to get away from the daily chores, I go hide in my room and play with my craft stuff. Luckily no one goes in there, it is a bit messy with my rubber stamps and papers and glue and embellishments and paper cutter and more and more. And this is because I clean up after every card I make--would you believe it. Boy if I didn't I wouldn't be able to find a place to stand haha.
This is my favorite place. Even my grand kids like my craft room. When they come over they want to go to the craft room and make a craft. I love hearing them say, can we go make a craft. We have alot of fun and mom gets to rest and watch t.v. or just relax. I wish I lived closer to my grand kids so that I could see them more often. It is hard not being able to see them much, even more so on holidays.
Which brings me to the crafts stuff again, it's Christmas time and the kids will need a teacher gift. I have so many ideas for gifts and I know it will be fun to make them with my grand kids. I have made a small list of things to do...so they better come see me.
Time goes by very fast and soon it will be time for school to be out for the holidays. Boy where did it go?? I should be talking, huh, I'm not their mom. Their mom is probably saying that more than me. lol.
I think they should come over and make all their gifts here. Hint, hint, moms.
Well, besides making cards, I have some other craft projects I want to do. I had better not say what it is because it will be the gifts to my kids. I wish my kids loved crafting as much as I do or even at all. They say I am the artsy fartsy one...so, what are you saying??? I think they have it in them, they just don't want to show it off, haha.
Well I guess this is enough for my break time...better get back to work.

my 2nd blog about crafts and kids
My daughter called laughing and laughing at my 1st blog. Yes, I mentioned I would be writing about crafts and grand kids and kids but, I got caught up in one subject. A party, I do tend to go on and on. But, on my defense...it was a craft. lol. So, to go on with my 2nd blog, by the way, I still don't understand all the blog stuff, but anyway, I would like to talk about some of my favorite things...I love writing. I love making cards and writing the verses on the cards. Most of the cards I send out are hand made by me and the verse is written by me. I think maybe about of all the crafts I make, the card making is my favorite. I like alot of crafts, but cards are number one. It would be awesome if I could make a living doing that and making money. But, til then, I'll just keep making these for my friends and family. And hope they enjoy them and hope that this is something that they will keep. Something to remember me by.
The other favorite thing is making things with my grand kids. And, you know, I think they like it too. I enjoy hearing them ask me if we can make something when I go over. Lets do a craft, they say. Well mostly the little ones, but sometimes the older one. I need to get them making things with me before they get to old and not want to craft with their grandma. Kids grow up way to fast. It's like your holding them in your arms one minuet and the next their holding your arm to cross the street. Well, they haven't yet, but I can see it coming. Way, way in the future. But, they do grow fast. Which brings me to another subject, I also love to write down and keep little notes about the kids. Some of the funny things they do or say. Maybe when they get older, I will show it to them. I think they will get a big kick out of it. You know kids say the darnest things.
They can make you happy when your not and make you laugh til you cry. That's good stuff. ...
Love my kids and grand kids.

My first blog...
I am a wife, a mom and a grandmom and have heard about blogs just about everywhere and just about all the time...so I thought, what is all the fuss about? Just about every tutorial, website and conversation follows...go to my blog. So, I decided I want a blog, but how do I do this???? Where do I start? What is the popular conversation? Oh, well, whatever it is...I am going along for this ride. So, This is my very first blog. Hope you enjoy it and any nice comments and suggestions are appreciated.
My blog will mostly be about crafts and my kids and grandkids, maybe a few other subjects but mostly crafts, kids, grandkids.
My latest crafts project is getting ready for one of my grandson's birthday, it will be a Halloween party, it has been a Halloween party every year. But, this year, he seems VERY exited about it. I guess he is a little older now and can appreciate the fuss for preparing this party. We are, his mom and I are rushing around getting supplies little by little and looking at recipes and decorations and props and games, the list goes on and on. I have a binder that I write down ideas for all kinds of events. This event is jam packed, but yet I am still looking for more ideas...there are SOOOO many cute ideas out there, and I make a few of my own too. But, I want something really COOOL to do for this year. Anyone, anyone...ideas?
My list has ideas for props, I LOVE making props and very lucky that I have a husband that helps...I draw he goes to his wood workshop and cuts out (trained good, huh...just kiddin), signs, labels, food, treats, look for and save list, games, prizes, favors, activities, websites (where I have found some GREAT ideas, man, there are some very talented people and great websites out there), decor, drinks...(this one is the shortest list) can't seem to think of anything. Any ideas, anyone?? music, cut files, stores with neat stuff for the party, invitation ideas and guest list, YES the list is long...but this is a BIG thing for us. And just think, he is only going to be 5 and already has a big list. lol. Wonder what his list will be when he is a teen....YIKES, may not have enough room on a page...teehee.
Well, I'd better get back to my list and my props and decoration making. Hope you enjoyed being in a little part of my life. Later dude (as my grandson says) Oh, he makes me laugh a lot, isn't that the greatest thing?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just LOOOOVE my grankids.
